(December 24, 2025) <\/strong>When Dikshitha Madisetty walked up to receive the 2025 Teaching Excellence Award at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences<\/a>, her voice shook. The 25-year-old adjunct lecturer in the Business Faculty nearly cried. The moment felt both triumphant and fragile, and one that called for a pause to acknowledge how far she had travelled from a place she once did not know how to survive.<\/span><\/p>\n

Less than a year earlier, her life in Germany had been on the brink of collapse. She had lost her job, had no steady income, no secure housing, and no clarity about her visa. At one point, she was close to returning to India. \u201cBeing young, foreign and alone means there is no safety net,\u201d Dikshitha tells<\/span> Global Indian<\/span><\/i><\/a>. \u201cYou build everything from scratch whether its work, stability, confidence or belonging.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

She stayed on, taking survival jobs, navigating unfamiliar professional systems, and rebuilding her footing step by step. Eventually, she returned to the classroom not just as a student of resilience, but as a teacher moulded by it. The Teaching Excellence Award does not signify having \u2018made it\u2019.\u00a0Dikshitha knows this. It is simply a proof that showing up, even while uncertain, can matter.<\/span><\/p>\n
